Penners, I can't be bothered with the hassle mate.

This year has been a cunt and enough stress so just want to draw a line underneath it and move on.

As pleasing as it must be feeling better, think of all the new people who have met you, have to see your face every day, and are now themselves on the slippery slide to depression.

Selfish wanker.

Cough, one of those things.

I wasn't ever really happy there, I was looking to move and it gave me that extra push.

The new firm are fully aware of the situation and have been absolutely brilliant, and want to help anyway they can.

Sometimes you have to sink further before moving upwards.

Re: Depression - Help and support Ideas....
Sorry to bump this old thread, but as I hadn't been on for sometime thought I'd post to give an update on progress...

I ended up losing my job because I took days "here and there" off where I phyiscally couldn't get out of bed, and just constantly emotional that my boss told me not to bother coming back - even though he knew all about the issues before I rejoined to work with him again.

I was off work for 5 weeks, started work for a new company last week. I've cut down on the drinking and getting regular sleep, and feel so much better for it.

Although I still have a lot of negativity in my head, and make things feel worse that what they actually are when I do a certain task - for example last week I got in such a state about my new job I was crying uncontrollably and a quivering mess. Day arrived to start work and fear and anxiety was at a astronomical level, still managed to get into work and at the end of the day I wondered what the big deal was and really enjoying things at the moment. The new job has brought a structure and stability I missed even when at my old job.

Finally things are starting to look positive, onwards and upwards!

Hope everyone else is doing ok :-)

Forget about West Ham in the meantime, is bound to help, they're turning us all into depressives at the moment.
But joking aside can I ask did you find medication a help, I'm trying to get someone close to me to take it for ongoing anxiety and stress ( I'd call it depression) but they are resisting.

Cheers.

Its hard to talk the truth sometimes. I recommended mindfulness and meditation to Bolt. Not sure if he has tried but its what a doctor friend recommends.

Hi,

Sorry to hear of your depression.
I haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if I'm repeating anything.

Below are 2 YouTube links. They feature Tony Robbins. He's a life coach from the US. He really knows his stuff. When you get past all the Americanisams he is well worth listening to. He puts things in a very simple and practical way.
Here's the first one.

I think this one is the second half of a 2 piece video. I'm sure if you look you will be able to find the whole thing.

I hope this helps.

bruuuno

I think you might find out who your true friends and family are and there are some who come out of depression with a new lease of life, though everyone is different.

I'm better able to deal with our current run of form, having come to not expect much from life.
